Hi Sam, Shame about the lack of stands, was suggesting the scaff towers because the event seems to be sponsored by a scaff company (huge banner behind stage + scaffolding stage).
As for the drunk people you never know what is going to happen. H&S is one of those things, if you ignore it you may be lucky time and time again and then one day..... Not only does someone get hurt but you get sued and possibly jailed for negligence. I have seen speakers topple from otherwise stable looking stacks and hit audience members. Not pretty.
Best practice says belt and braces. Though of course stacked at the height you had them no need for straps at all unless the H&S inspector is particularly rabid.

OK, this thread seems to have been quiet for to long! I have dug out some more (not very exiting) photos. Get Cape Wear Cape Fly UK tour - October 2006, Bridport. This band are awesome and are tipped to be very big soon. The second time I have provided sound services for them and they and their crew are superb. The Dynacord Cobra 4 did it again, the sound was stunning and GCWCF's engineer was very happy. 4 TOPS, 2 FAR's and 6 PWH subs. Desk was A&H GL3800-32. Outboard a complement of DXB160's, 1066's, Drawmer DS201's, Yammy SPX2000, TC D2 and so on.. Monitoring - GCWCF brought their own IEM system and this was complemented with EV Rx115 wedges. We had an assortment of microphones - Audix D series, SM81 and AT4033a's on the drums, EV and Shure out front A rather untidy collection of amp racks and cables - space was rather limited! And after a long night, the dreaded pack up! Dan LOUD EVENTS

the FOH tent the eq rack (effects underneath) the amprack (different venue tho) the stage ... was thunder storms and heavy rain all weekend ... at one point had to switvch off the genny and shut the front of the lorry, also one monitor got rained on and blew up with some spectacular sparking!! was a pretty fun weekend, and the sunday night at 10pm, the bar all became self service and free to finish the open kegs!!

was a tempting idea to drive the lorry around the village blasting out some loud bass heavy dub! the genny was on a trailer round the corner too!!
we are going through organisers to get a 'float' in next years local town carnival. Plan is the lartgest genny we can afford to hire, then me and a mates rig combined pointing out in a semi circle array at the back with my lasers and other lights sticking out the back with a sleection of smoke machines running so ones pretty much always on. Would have to go up the back im guessing as the other 2k skytech rigs may get drowned out! would be a total laugh tho!

When I did the Un-signed and Sealed In The Park in Hayes Middlesex in August, we had a similar truck and I used my lighting trussing and winch stands, to hold up the soft side, to provide some protection. They were both staked-down so the whole lot couldn't blow away in a freak gust of wind. Fortunately it didn't rain anyway.

Hmmm here`s a few... Yammi desk and Lampy scum to left.... My fave gig last year...NCA rig with the amps and control in the caravan! We had to mix from the FOH GARDEN SHED! But the Festival is so good and had lots of time in between to have a wander about! and here`s me pulling funny faces at the Res9`s at NYE gig.. .p.
