how big was the area you were providing sound to john?
and why do lampies insist on using lighting in the day when there is clearly no need!?!? LED's on the rear towards the audience is effective for pretty colour chase sequences, but id just save my halogens lives for when they are needed.

The area was only slightly wider than the width of the stage and back to FOH, about 25m. The sound could be clearly heard all over the field by the hundreds of bikers, who stayed with their machines. We just had the revelers in front of the stage. I was using all of my gear listed on page 1 of The Cliffe Music Fest in the Sits Vac forum. (I left it there from when I first joined and update it as my rigs evolve). The reason I had my lighting on during the late afternoon, was that the stage got relatively dark when a big cloud came over. My Ryger controllers rack was under stage right and was mostly left on auto pilot. I always use soft on and soft off and never 100% output, so the halogens last a long time. I still haven't got separate dimmers and a lighting desk, as I am too busy on the sound and happy with what the 4x Ryger units can achieve on speed or base chase and dimming. The 2x O/W Par56 profi-spots firing across the front of the stage and the 2x O/W cans aimed at the drummer, are always left permanently on and dimmed and really help with the photography. If you look closely at the gig picks of BURN, you will see that even during the afternoon, their faces are lit by these lamps. There are now some more pics of the Chinnor 2008 event on www.wycombemag.co.uk/chinnor.htm in the photo gallery John.

My other "job", as drummer /vocalist for STOLEN. This was taken at Marley Farm Park in Kent last year. My minimal 1.3kw PA rig was on stage to my right and I monitored FOH with the cans. John
