Hi.
I am thinking of starting college in september doing a course in 'Basic Sound and Music Tech' and so part of this course is sound engineering. I was just wondering if you had any advice on getting into the industry, how you managed to become involved in it and if someone could please tell me what the Ohms law is as i have a question on it as part of my college interview and i am getting very confused lol!
Thanks for your time

Hi Amy Wecome to the board, here is a link to a site that shows OHM's law www.the12volt.com/ohm/ohmslaw.asp It is basically the relationship between resistance, volts and amperes. Ian

Amy get out now
Sound engineering is a unsocial job you work late evenings and nights and your mates works days you never see your parnter and when your on the road you don't see a familiar face for Months on end
Than theres the case that this industry is based on who you know so you gotta have a good personality or atleast have something that makes you unique and remebered.
But all in all i love it, so if you love the music and the atmosphere and the whole ora about the job than go for it

I've had some of the best experiences of my life being on the road as a sound engineer... you might not be able to hang out at a gig but you certainly party afterwards!
