Hi,
Well firstly, I headed it as project but really its more of a quest that I'm hoping to grasp a solution from your knowledge and expertise, if anybody is willing to help.
Here goes, I drive a truck.. (http://hometown.aol.co.uk/ilovemymagnum/truckfest.html) and basically, I'm trying to achieve and install a LOUD but clear music system. The factory fitted system that is already in place is absolutely pants but, I'm unable to replace or remove it as my employer will not allow me to, thanks to previous bozo's screwing up the wiring in other trucks.
So, this leaves me with only one option, which is to install one independently in the cab. I have currently installed a Panasonic DVD/Tuner 600 watt (rms)surround sound system which has 5 sattelites and an active sub but doesn't give anything like i'd expected following my trials of them within stores, which puts me back to square one. Obviously there's a reason for those high roof's within certain high st chains
I have previously tried a Creative Labs speaker system through an external sound card from my laptop with amplification software, it didn't work !! I even resorted to carrying around an Aiwa amplifier + Cd changer with 2 large speakers for a while, until they nearly went through the windscreen one day...
I have available within the truck the following power supplies, 12v (10amp), 24v (15amp) and 240v (15Amp (300w max) through an inverter.
All I want this system for, is to listen to cd's and watch DVD's from my laptop, ideally in a surround sound setup but more importantly achieve as loud and crystal clear output as possible.
Has anybody got any ideas or possible solutions to help me on this matter, PLEASE !!!!
Thank you for reading this post
