Hi All!
Im looking at wedges again; what make whets your aural appetite? Smallish stage about 20feet accross, but normally have very noisy rock bands so need to cut through for vocals. Can anyone reccomend?

I have come across Logic Systems wedges a lot recently and the band and myself have been very pleased with them.

I use mackie srm 450's[older version made in italy-not china] on small one night gigs due to quick set-up and flexibility[fbt is better and especially the new rcf self-powered ones] and nexo ps 15's/ps 10's[with controller/crown3600] on big gigs. Also have upgraded some old martin le 400 copies into bi-amp[nl4] with an xta x-over/c-audio ra 3001 . hope this helps How is the GB4 bearing up?

Hi Jim, The Smart Sound passive monitors I use, have a 15" Eminence with a compression driver. They handle 450w RMS. I use two of them in between 3x Shure Beta 58 mics, parallel to the stage. They are not too heavy and cost me £259 each and about £45 for a pair of tough covers. They certainly make the vocals cut though for the Blues Rock bands I engineer for, including my own band. Have a look at their web site. www.smartsounddirect.com John.

And Mic MK; Yes the gb4 is a cracker, i dont know how i got by without it!!! only bugger is the silly 4 pin xlr bendy lamp sockets, cant find a supplier for these anywhere! No more peaks on the drums now; i had a few cables out of phase; ive checked them all now and everything should be the right way up sine wave wise now!!!!

;D isn't it amazing how things work out.
Whilst browsing e bay i came across an auction for some empty a.s.s. bins and cabs. The company actually was a.s.s, and i asked if they had any bass drivers and monitors for sale.
Long story short, i have now purchased 6 Reflekta 400w P+D loaded monitors at a very reasonable cost! I'm not saying how much but it was less than list!
Also, Tony, (ex of heartwood guitars) sorted me a couple of P+D drivers for the cabs we have, of which he originally made to order years ago. Amazing how things come around.
I have nothing but nice things to say about this man. I prefer to use local suppliers and i was made very welcome at the factory.
I got to watch the cabs being made, and also got to hear some experimental cabs he was building.
They don't have a website as yet (although it is coming very soon) i will let you all know when its up and running!
I'll send a pic once the new monitors are installed (hopefully before Hayseed Dixie play!!)
...now i need some more amps.....!

if you can afford go for Renkus Heinz q15 wedge. Looking at around £800 per wedge I think. Bloody powerful, clean sounding and reasonably light.

I'll second that, or if you want something smaller see if you can find some Renkus Qube 12s, I am using those a lot recently for foldback and delays etc with rigs up to 10K in size (I use bigger stuff PS15s or Logic Systems for larger stages) The Renkus stuff has astonished me with their clarity and shear volume capability.
