Since my last big studio re-arrangement (rip out the huge bar at one end and set up the new mixer at the other) I have altered the acoustics. Adding more Auralex Wedgies on the ceiling (now totaling 72) has helped a lot, especially now that I have to sometimes accommodate V-drums and normal cymbals where the bar use to be.
I have also had to re-arrange my wall of PA cabs, so that the ones I use for play-back and listening to live music DVDs are now more central and that has added a new low end node.
To counter this I have ordered some Auralex LENRD bass traps, to position along the ceiling and wall edges.
They should be up by the week-end, so I will post the results.

Hi Ian, It's taken a long time to get to this stage as I have been redesigning the layout as I go.
There are currently 2 settees in there, but the one where the bar used to be (under the shelf of Tascam 424mk2 master tapes in the silver cases) does not get used for sitting on. However, it does make a useful bass trap.
When I need the space, I put that settee in the gig van which is parked just outside in the secure access.
The Pink Panther on the wall, is the old Handle With Care mascot. It was hung up wherever they played and has now become resident since they broke up, as Jess and Snowy still jam with me in the studio.

In spite of using a 16/4 multicore to link the 14x mic leads and 1x DI lead to the desk, it still looks a bit messy. However, by keeping the excess close to the drums, it prevents trip hazards. For live gigs, there is nowhere near this amount of excess, due to the distances involved and the use of separate 8/4 and 8 way stage boxes and a DI loom.
