A couple of the bands at Chinnor wanted more out of the drum-fill and keys monitor stacks than they could handle, so I have changed out all 4x 15" drivers.
I was surprised to find cheep Chinese Goldwood GW 1558's in my Smart Sound LP5M wedges. They only handle 200w rms and are not very efficient. The cabs were rated at 450w max power, but all of my other Smart Sound cabs are rated in rms. I replaced them with Eminence Delta 15 LFA's 500w rms. The Smart Sound SP5SP subs had Eminence Kappa 15A's, 450w rms in them, so I replaced them with Eminence Kappa-Pro 15A's, also 500w rms and more efficient.
I hooked them back up to my 2x Crown XLS 2000's in bridge mono, 1000w rms as usual and what a difference. They really kick ass now.
I should now be able to use the 15" subs with 2x JBL MRX512 tops as my smallest FOH rig, when my band gets back on the road. They think small is best, as we are not as fit as we used to be.
Before the upgrade, the 15" subs were not punchy enough, so I used the 18's and they were much heavier.

The bands at The Paul Fox Social Club charity gig, at The Ruislip Social Club on the 19th October, very much liked both the sound on stage and out the front.
The upgraded Drum-Fill and Keys Monitor stacks were well up for it.
