Hey ho crew.
me again.
does anyone know if there are any courses around the south east dealing with all aspects of digital desks? I'm coming accross quite a lot of them now and although i'm coping, i'd rather be a little more eu-fait with some of the more funky desks.
A course that covers all the major brands would be excellent.
any ideas?

Hi
I think i have mentioned before, but midas run a week long course on their digital desks up my neck of the woods at klark teknik kidderminster. its free to attend, and lets you play with the desk at your own pace, and learn about how to diagnose problems etc if things dont work the way you expect. I'm sure other manufacturers have similar training days/weeks. just ask the companies.

Jim ...... several of the engineers that we used / used it over the last year for Go West / Billy Ocean / Aswad etc are now enquiring about using the Vi6 regularly, and as some of them havnt had that much use on it, we're about to get the Vi6 out, and with the Alesis 24tr recorder we can 'set up' a proper gig - or 12 way monitor mix - in the warehouse. The idea is to let these guys come and play for a day each ( no charge, but you must bring cake! ) so they get to love it and, ultimately, hire it more. Clever eh ?? !! When i get my finger out and sort it would you like to come out to play ? Regards, Steve

sounds great steve - dunno when im going to be free, however -this tour is going on forever (typing this in Oldham Travelodge)- im currently getting mon to weds off so yeah, that'd be great! 'bout time i came over for a cuppa anyway! James; that sounds good - the midas is the only digital desk i havent touched as yet - my fave is stll the vi6 as its a dddle to use, follwed closely by the d-show, then the m7cl then the ls9. definately \NOT that horrible behringer effort. urgh! I'll have a look at travelodges in Kidderminster and see if i cant wange a visit during the tour. nice one chaps!

Yamaha Pro Audio do training courses at their R&D center in Chiswick. They have all the Yamaha boards there. The guy who teaches is Tree Tordoff .
Digico do training at their HQ near Kingston.
