Hey ho everyone.
I'm off on tour around Europe later on in November, anything i should be thinking about? My insurance is good, my recovery goes all over the EU but im thinking about all the rules and regs - visiting France, Belgium, Germany and amsterdam. Particularly road laws, i understand some countries now make you carry warning triangles etc. Ideas?

Hi viz vest for France cumpulsory optional elsewhere. Drink driving more strict than UK Have you got NHS card? Max speed 130 Kph, even Germany now most autobahns have max speed 130k
Have fun, most of these places drive better than UK, except Brussels ring road on Friday afternoon when it is a free fo all.

If you are using any walkie talkies or radio mics then check that your frequencies are legal everywhere you go. I was working in the Hague a while ago and the radio police turned up. They had been outside with a scanner. They said all the walkies on the show were on illegal frequencies and confiscated the lot! It was just before the show started and they didn't care at all. The show was thrown into turmoil and the production company never got them back. You should find advice on the JFMG website.

no wireless stuff to worry about with this tour - thanks for the warning though!
Im getting very used to driving over there now - the drive to Berlin was boring but uneventful BUt did get stopped by plod for a spot check - no sense of humour over there! lol.
The venues have been very good - Rosis in Berlin was an old place in a 70's art deco style, Paradiso in Dam was brilliant, and a few days ago the gig in hasselt, Belgium was in a converted industrial unit. they certainly do throw money at these venuies - although i wouldnt have used so much powered mackie gear - it was everywhere.
This weds, Paris!

thankies! just got back from paris - their drivers are the worst so far - im told the italians are worse still though! We've actually just got in from visiting Metropolis recording studio in W4, where the band were doing some recording - what a fantastic place! not cheap mind! saw Johnny Marr in there laying down tracks for The Cribs. brilliant. even better watching the telly in the lounge and seeing Portsmouth very nearly win!!
