Ok, im quite happy with the old behringer virtualiser thing i'm using, but is there anything out there a bit better without breaking the bank? I would particularly like one that i can set when the vocalist says 'can i have 90milliseconds of delay please?'
i'd love to be able to just dial it in. any suggestions?

Surely you'll be able to do that on your 01v96 Jim?

FX units: Cheap - Alesis Midiverb 4. sounds OK, tap tempo delays, reverbs etc. Good - TC M1 XL - very good mid price FX unit. Superb DElay: TC D2 - purpose built delay unit with every type of delay imaginable.
My personal preference is for: 1 x Lexicon PCM91 - vocal reverbs 1 x Yamaha SPX2000 - instrument reverbs 1 x TC M1xl - general effects 1 x TC D2 - Delay
Failing that, 2 x reverb proocessors - I will even accept the Begringer Pro VErb (sounds surprisingly good - am just about to tke delivery of one for evaluation purposes) 1 x tap tempo delay.

You can put 90 ms of delay on the Virtualiser. IT is an astonishingly flexible unit (I am talking about the more recent one, not the original) I still use one, mostly for vocoder or ring modulator or weird ping pong delays.

Those virtualiser things are an astonishingly good (for the money) unit. I currently use one as my percussion reverb. Sounds WAY better than a Yamaha SPX990 - just is a complete pig to program.
Can't say I have ever used the vinyl effect, but I think I used the sampler once.
I have a DBX 286a, OK pre amp, good de-esser, somewhat useful compressor, somewhat useful exciter. I primarily got mine for the de-esser which it does well. The pre amp is very useful when touring the "toilet circuit" as God knows what type of desk you will be presented with.

i give up. ive been sodding around with the dsp2024, and call me thick BUT i cant get it to run reverb and delay at the same time, one in each channel - i route one channel to aux 7 and the other to aux 8 so i can put a bit of either in each channel - but i just cant get the thing to do what it says on the box. Very frustrating. Gave up and put my old dsp1000 back in there - perfect. anyone wanna buy this one off me b4 i ebay it??

Hi Yamaha rev 500 are good cheap fx units used them loads of times and they sound pretty good. If you can get your hands on one TC D2 are fantastic. I own a lexicon MX200 and its really good as well both the lex and the yamy are much better then the midiverbs, hope it helps Alex
