yours truly has blagged the tour with britains best poet by far - mr Scroobius pip!
should be the easiest gig i've done - scroob uses just one sm58 and dan le sac (backing tracks) uses a laptop - so thats two-possibly three channels used up. LOL!
anyway, reason im posting is i was just wondering about the setups at the venues i going to be attending - are there any that are going to scare me?
heres the tour itinery

Nice easy one for you mate! Iv been to all those venues over the last couple of years and there all decent. Some MUCH better than others, but since its only 3 channels you dont really need to be to worried about lack of power in the PA and monitors as you would for a full live band. Your even playing one of my venues - KING TUTS!!! you will have alot of fun in there! Andy

So i see! Marvellous. Dan le sac has informed me that he has 7 channels actually in use, two for drums, two for effects, two for instrumentals and one synth. i have decided to bring along a Behringer DI800 (which should be enough) and a couple of mikes in case the in house ones are a bit yukky. Also I've been asked to bring a compressor for Scroob's vocals, not sure which one to take - don't really want to take a behringer and look like a pikey so i might have to unleash a dbx vocal pre with built in comp i think. Anyway I'm off in two days, don't return until 30th Sept - but will try to post updates here while I'm on the road!

so far, the venues have been great - the only one that was a bit strange was EVOL in Liverpool, so many people in there i couldnt see the band or get any visual cues, but we got away with it.
The underground in stoke was great fun, as was king tuts (thanks for looking after me guys!!!), middx empire (huge but small soundcraft desk and peavey mons EEK) and Tamworth was nice becuase the venue has a nice line array and M7cl desk. Next up is colchester (im off this arvo) then Bedford esquires.
DI800 has been invaluable because, as i suspected, there were very minimal DI boxes at every venue so pretty glad i got it.
