Oh dear. After having a listen around our lovely EV eliminator mid tops i noticed that out of 8 we have, only 4 have the tweeters still working! Second in command has had them out, definately gone, showing open circuit!!! (no internal fuses or bulbs in these!) While he was at it, he decided to check the bass bins (ASS 'W' folded) and blow me down if 2 arent farting and one has a ruddy great hole in it! I now need to know a good, quick, reliable place to get these speakers re-coned or replaced; also i need to get these tweeters; sparks says they have '7ohm' on the back!! i bet they'll be hard to find! So much for the limiter on the crossover! The drivers in the bass bins are 500w 15", god knows what the tweeters are, will have to get back to you on that one. anyone got any ideas? thanks guys! PS thanks to the people that e mailed me asking me how i was after my motorcycle accident, im fine, codeine is a good painkiller!! only 5 broke ribs as it turns out!!!! (ouch)

Tweeter replacement windings ordered (£340 lighter) and now have the bass bins out; one speaker was ripped to ribbons (??) and the other one was wedged solid in the centre (major burnout!!!) I actually did think that a mouse had got in there and eaten the paper, i think these are just wear and tear (literally!)
Bass drivers are: EVM 15L, 400W 8ohm. I have been on to A.S.S. and they may have some on the shelf! hurrah!

ok now I'm really confused. fitted our new dh2305 tweeters in the mid tops tonight, and they work, but theres hardly any volume at all. Four of our cabs are fine, but the other four you cant really pick out the treble at all. Can there possibly be a problem with the crossovers? Ive had a look at them but obviously theres nothing visually wrong, but what can go wrong with a ruddy great wire wound coil?? i cant believe I've burnt one of these out so I'm going to blame one of the capacitors or resistors. Any ideas??

Could well be burnt out, best to meter thro, caps and resistors could also be blown. I have had problems with crossovers before, one was spectacularly blown up!!
Sorry
