Hi all. me again.
whats the verdict on 31 band graphics nowadays? I'm looking to upgrade the graphic i use on the FOH (old Ross Rx31's) to something a bit nicer; also a nice stereo compressor to keep a hold on the overall levels will be nice; thinking of pushing the boat out and buying DBX/drawmer.
saw the latest klark-teknik stuff in total production last month but they are a bit out of my price range; and i defo do not want no more bloody hissy behringer gear thats for sure! (you learn as the years go by and the hiss gets worse!!) Any recommendations chaps?

on the graphic front, as the new KT stuff is out why not hunt around for a DN360, they are solid as a rock and you know it is going to pull-out what ever you touch unlike the Behringer stuff or many other brands. If you have a good budget for it, go for my EQ of choice A XTA GQ600. But thats just my opinion. Comps wise DBX are good, can't remember the number tho, will have a look on my racks tomorrow when i get on site and let you know.

Iv got to agree with the klark techik DN360. These are a great graphic, very reliable and they do what you ask them to! you can pick them up for a good price these days definately one of my favourites. Have a look at these comps the dbx 1066 there reliable, musical(unlike behringer killing the top end) and are also quite cheap these days www.dbxpro.com/1066.htm

Hi Jim, If you are looking for cheap compression then the DBX266 is significanttly better than Behringer and now costs about the same. About £89 + VAT from Studiospares. www.studiospares.com. The 166 is a little better but there isn't that much in it for the money. If you want a significant upgrade then secondhand BSS or KT are the way to go. Regards, Simon PS. Did you ever get that demo?

Hi LT, Yes, Audio Engineer LTD is my buisiness partners and my company. The website is not up and running yet due to a very heavy workload, though we do hope to have it functional soon. As the holding page says, we install sound systems in both venues and stusios, offer acoustical consultancy services as well as engineering and touring with various bands. What we have not mentioned on there yet is that we are now the main London dealers for Opus Audio products, purist analogue hi-fi on a massive scale. Their speakers and amps have just een installed in the Naional Theatre and are currently on tour with the award winning Jerry Springer The Opera. You can check out their products on www.OpusAudio.com. I notice that you live in Brighton. I will be moving there in the next month or so and am looking for a venue down there to do a showcase install in. Any suggestions? Best regards, Simon :-)
