This new west London (Ruislip Middlesex), Friday night venue, has been live since February this year. www.tropicatruislip.co.uk/Tonight's band is The Floyd Effect, a superb Pink Floyd tribute band. www.thefloydeffect.com/gallery.htmlThis will be the first all-seated event at the Tropic, due to the amount of PA and stage lighting being rigged. If you are in the area and into Floyd, or are just interested in how so much kit is used at a local venue, this is a great evening out. John.

I provided and engineered my full PA and medium lighting rigs on Friday 4th, September, at the Tropic at Ruislip, in Middlesex, www.tropicatruislip.co.uk for a charity gig in aid of The David Mather Foundation, for Release The Peach and 24 Fighting Camels, plus Dave & Mike Coe & Gez Neacy, (acoustic folk/blues), from The Lyric Police, in the break. This was my first time with my rigs at this new venue and the bands and the audience all thanked me for the sound. I was also approached by one of the promoters, to see if I was available for new live shows on Sundays, as they already know that I cannot normally do Fridays, due to my work commitments. It felt really good to nail this one. There are now some photos posted on the charity web site, but they are not very good. davidmatherfoundation.org/events.htmJohn.

I was asked at short notice to provide and engineer my PA at The Tropic at Ruislip on Sunday 15/11/09, for Ed Deane's band from Ireland, Left Right and Centre, as the house PA and engineer were not available. George just wanted a small vocal PA, but this is a blues power trio, so I didn't want to be found lacking. I took my 2.4K rig with full out-board and 3x JBL MRX512 monitors. It sounded great in this very pleasant venue. Just as well, as Ed's vintage Fender Blues DeVille 410 combo had some serious projection and I had to bring the 3x vocals, kit and bass up to match it. (sounded fantastic and I didn't want to ask him to turn it down). The band thanked me for the great sound and I was approached by 2 other bands in the audience, with a view to future gigs. www.tropicatruislip.co.uk/Gigs%20in%20Ruislip/index.htmwww.eddeane.com/index.htmJohn.
