Currently running 2 2x15 bin loaded with JBL 2226 15". There are standard front facing design ported. I am driving them with 2xcrown 2400s in bridged mode. At a reasonable volume they tend to "plop out " and dont get much kick of them. I am taking it that they are at there limits or "Faduffed". I am looking to either replace the drivers? or replace the bins? It has been suggested to me that the Martin 2x18 Blackline bin should sort me out. What are you comments. Note would like to double up but cost and size is limited.

Hi Andy, Check out www.smartsounddirect.com They have Concert Performance CP28SPK 2.5K rms dual 18" subs in push pull config, for £999. I have not heard them myself, but the reviews rate them highly. They are in their latest catalogue on page 10, which can be viewed from the web site. John

New drivers are your cheapest way to go, I would suggest Beyma or B&C as being very good, the fane colossus range is good if you are looking for something a little cheaper. However whether you should replace the drivers or sell the cabinets and upgrade depends upon your requirements. If you are doing big venues or lots of dance music then you re going to need the 18"s. As an alternative to the Martin boxes, check out Nightfire at www.pa-direct.co.uk. Their boxes are supposed to be very good indead.
