Hi Jim, what a tool.
Although my Mackie Onyx 1640, with the fire-wire expansion, is at the cutting edge of analogue small format mixers with, 6 aux's, 4 sub-groups, 16 track and L/R master digital recording outputs and 2 digital returns, this new Studiolive digital mixer is in another world.
I can't believe it will be as cheep as you suggest and how is it possible to have all of that processing power and data storage in such a compact unit?.
Sound quality, reliability, robustness & software bugs are things that I would be most concerned about. Having everything dependent on one newly developed unit, could be a major problem for live work.
John.

That looks pretty cool, thinking about getting an 01V but if this turns out to be good I might have to stretch the budget a bit...

Wow that looks interesting! If it sounds any good it should hire out only slightly cheaper than an LS9 16 - could be a very good ROI.

I noticed this about amonth ago on the presonus website. I was looking at a Tascam Dm4800 for the future but this looks cool.
Anyone got one to try out yet?

bummer. I guess it doesnt really matter as there are only a maximum of 16 ch? Im presuming this doesnt have any more channels as that would be pritty crappy with no motorised faders lol
I guess we are all just waiting for the digi snakes to come down more in price next so they are all affordable for us all. Should be cheap in the future with the price of copper and stuff now! All PCB mounted and in popped in a box, something probably made in minutes yet so expensive!
Really I find Im getting to the point in my life where I'm thinking I'm too old for laying this multi down by myself nowdays...at 16 haha. Plus Cat5e is soo much cheaper than multicore by the meter!

" Plus Cat5e is soo much cheaper than multicore by the meter! " sounds like the makings of a great sound-crew song. Lol, John.

Hi Jim, fortunately at Chinnor, the organizers had provided 20 metres of big single tunnel cable guard and for the last 5 metres, 2x scaffold poles with wooden blocks at each end, to hold them apart. I gaffered my smaller cable guard over the top of the poles, once my multicore was laid. It all withstood the weight of several Harleys and loaded Sprinter vans without any problems.
That cable guard is good stuff, but the large type is very heavy to transport and also coils big. My twin tunnel type is only big enough for 2x bulgin lighting cables. It keeps them away from the mic cables when I have to run them across the floor in front of the stage at smaller gigs. John.

still waiting for this... I thought it would been out by now!
Im trying to get a biz grant through my college. I was after a GL2400 or a mackie Onxy 32.4 and then get separate presonus or focusrite soundcards.. I was thinking 1 or 2 of these might be good to run live and connected to logic on the mac and do FoH and mons.
Still i keep forgetting no motorized faders. bumma!
Anyone had their hands on one yet?
