Mr Soundmanjim.
I couldnt help but noticing that you had a photo on this page from a gig at king tuts. And it's an allen and heath desk. The thing is though, I engineered there about a year ago for a band called Too much Texas and as far as I remembered they had a Full Range Martin box system, all fed from a Soundcraft seiries 4 Desk?!
Is it just me or does it seem odd that they would change it for that A&H?!
Although i do have to say.....I much prefer A&H Desks, Partly for familiarity (I Learned on a GL3300) And partly, because they are so d**n Simple to use. Hehehe, Not to say the same about the seiries 4, with it's dual concentric pots and RIDICULOUSLY complicated VCA system. lol
So, any ideas?..... What gives?

oh my god the food was blimmin' awesome. I think we had like a lasagna or something, and they really looked after us. Top venue, and the in house engineer is a nice chap too. Horrible for parking though!!! Dunno about the desk; were back up there in April, i'll ask why they changed desks.

hmmm. its a matter of opinion. I love to hear a nice clean high as long as it's not too tinny - i found that scroobs vocal was nice and clear thru the geos using a sennheiser E945. Not harsh at all. Ive heard people say the geos can be toppy but i thought they sounded great. However, i am 41 years old, so my high register isnt what it was!! I think its down to personal preference - and who set the eq up in the first place. They were very easy to rig, quick to pack away and they look the buisness hanging from the ceiling - and they even look good stacked. Sounded awesome last night on the Ronson tour at Hammy apollo - but i admit everything was a bit harsh when the place was empty. One managed to blow up on the tour though, but one out of 30 of the things wasnt bad going!

here is the first few photos which have come available of this weekend. Very wet, very muddy, and very fun! police came friday and said someone in a village 6-8miles away had complained it was vibrating her windows......... the landowner in horror as the van arrives full of black boxes! front of rig the stack, with drugged up person to show scale djm800 mixer and CDJ's unfortuantly the smoke fluid had run out by this one.... the white beam of a minimac ... followed by the effect on the tree. amazing how powerful those little 150w bulbs are!! VJ projections - the white exploding head at the time, loads of samples, live cams mixed in etc.... some lampie pics... the UV sofa shed full of drug takers lol... will change to better pics once they arrive, but will do for now. was a simply amazing show, sound and lighting was spot on, many many people were saying how its the best lightshow they have ever seen outside of a pro touring type gig ! some good and bad dj's too.

Heres some pics of me doing the wallsend festival, newcastle, north east on sat 5th july. Fairly low key event and because it decided to lash down that meant at times there was only an audience of 15-20 people! It was a shame because usually its packed! From this angle you can see our audience Heres me looking rather wet at the mixer!
