ok, latest - Tony Rossell is looking to make me a couple of his fabbo horn loaded 2 x 12 and 2" hi units - should be ideal for the club. its install so it will be custom made, will include some pics when i get them. just waiting on a quote now. Could also still do with a large drum moniotor cab though.

In this order
TC Electronic XTA Peavey VSX Behringer DCX2496
Do yourself a favour and stay away from the Driverack PA. The Behringer sounds better, is cheaper and wont blow your speakers in tthe event of power failure or a mains spike.

id say bang for buck, the beery DCX whatever ..... i know - i hear u screaming buit still,
ive done AB comparrisons on the berry DCX, BSS minidrive, DBX drive something, VOID top model.
out of all of them, i found the berry to be most user friendly on setting up, (ie: didnt need to read anything), had the best features (3 in 6out - full eq, limiting, phase, delay, routing, gain, crossover ect per output). sound was the crispest of the lot too! they are rare to get hold of however.
however if you are after the brand then get something 10times the price which does the same (and in many cases less!).
cheers, Pat

just a quick update - i had a look inside the box that kept taking out the tweeters and found a totally burned out resistor AND mullered Non polarised Capacitor on the crossover board. I'm assuming the capacitor went down first, causing the resistor to overheat and actually burst its guts into the cabinet. I had to laugh when i saw it, at least I now know why the tweeters kept blowing - with the capacitor down they were getting pretty much DC up them. Niiice.
anyway ive put a recon unit in, just waiting on a replacement from a nice ebayer in Germany.

hmmm, that should be done every time something breaks/every 6months really, passive crossovers can be pretty nasty

i actually find the drive rack system a really good and fully networkable processing system, especially with the remote. its very dynamic and configurable, it has things like multiple levels of delay, pre and post, full front and backend graphic and parametric eq etc i would avoid the driverack pa however. its mostly designed for pub/cabaret and has been stripped down to the point where you only get 10ms of post delay! With DBX I wouldn’t look any lower than the 250 model. Ofcourse the biggest drawback is like a lot of DBX stuff it is very overpriced. BSS are good and have some nice clean sounding filters, especially with the very pricy varicurve system. As ginger biscuit has said you are paying a premium for the badge however. if you are just looking to crossover im sure a just a simple behringer will do a relatively decent enough job.
