hey phil. just to say, impressed with your lighting designs, doing better things than many of the old boys!!
also just listened to some GCB on myspace... was interesting. Very cheesy midi based pub stuff really! i hope your skills take you other places, try getting involved with a local younger band which are going somewhere, they will take you places. GCB wont get much past pubs, small halls and weddings! sorry if that sounds rude, but i made the mistake of spending years with a mature band which never/will never advance on to a decent level.
next time im up your way (think i have a 300person wedding job febuary time), ill give u a ring, see if your about. Ta, Pat

O yeh the recordings are hopeless. I was going to mix them but its all on a bloody roland workstation thingy, not very nice compared to logic or cubase. very akward to use!
I re-mixed the one they use and made it live sounding unlike alot of standard pub bands tracks. I am going to record one of the shows and upload that to their myspace to give a better impression - even the band agrees its rather cheezy lol.
As I said the focus has been on the live side of things.
The band have been great for me and they have allowed me to do loads. Yes, even they know they arnt going to go big as one of them was doing clubs for last 30yrs or so and its just more fun than for a income now.
Once im out of school - june/july 08 im free to go further as at the minute im restriced with GCSEs etc so getting back in in the early hours of the morning isnt a good idea if ive gotta stay awake for the next day at school lol.
Thanks for the advise Pat
Phil
I have just been looking back at some of my lighting pics for about half a year ago. I didnt realise I have been able to do much more. I wish I had some movers and more lights so I could do more actual designing tho......oh and a generator for extra power would be handy too lol
