ok im after renewing all my gels on my stage cans (par56's) so although i have yellow, blue, green and red (plus one without any gel in it) i was wondering what are the nicest colours (or the most effective or striking) i could use? Im thinking lee filters here, what do you lot think? i really like flooding the stage with vivid blues ( i have 6 cans just for this) but what should i be looking at?

just a couple of colours i use regularly for stage lighting. Also like to use a light frost behind some of the colours... also a colour and heavy frost works well on short nose floor cans...
707 Ultimate Violet,, 721 Berry Blue,, 738 JAS Green,, 010 Medium Yellow,, 015 Deep Straw,, 024 Scarlet,, 113 Magenta,, 328 Follies Pink,,

well i have six poar56's on a stage about 20 x 15 feet square, i reckon i have enough cans on that particular dmx channel, so what am i looking at, mid blue? i already have quite a lot of current drain on stage during a gig, dont really want to add another kilowatt! i have - four 56 cans vertically arranged either side of the stage facing the band (bl/yel/red/grn) 10 56 cans front and above just in front of the curtain track facing band(bl/rd/grn/bl/yel/yel/bl/grn/rd/bl) 2 56 cans facing drum riser (have now added nice pink gel and that makes the kit look really good) 5 lf70's behind the drummer as a blinder

Your 6x par cans take 1.8kw, so you would be saving 800w. It's OK to have more lighting than there is power available, as long as you don't try to use them all at the same time. I only use my 22x par cans as spots and the 2x Quartets for colour changing wash.
