Guys. I'm seriously considering upgrading from our trusty gb2 32 channel desk for a presonus studiolive or soundcraft si compact, mainly cos I'm bloody sick of wires!
I'm looking to get more upmarket bands at the venue I've got involved in, and I've basically been given free run of the place to play pa systems and stuff, so wanted to get some modern kit.
I especially would like to use my iPad 2 as wireless controller for the desk especially monitors, so I can wander about on the stage setting up the monitor mixes. Last time I saw that was an Allen and Heath I live, so I know the presonus allows this but I'm not sure about the si compact. Also, I really wanted a cat 5 stagebox and only the si compact supports that, can't see if the presonus is compatible.
Any ideas?
I'm defo going to use outboard eq to save faffing about but everything else will be desk generated.

I have used the Soundcraft Si and most Yamaha desks, and I think it is fair to say that the Soundcraft sounds better but the Yamahas are much more the industry standard. I don't know how many visiting engineers you have but everyone seems to know how to use Yamaha desks. Just a thought.
