Hi all, I will be at this great annual bike show, providing and engineering my sound and lighting rigs from 4-6 July, at Little Horsenden Farm near Longwick. 2 of the bands I regularly work with , Release The Peach and Handle With Care are among this year's line-up. If you are into bikes and like the idea of a camping week-end bike show with live music whilst helping to raise funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, come and visit us. www.wycombemag.co.uk/chinnor.htmJohn

Hi Wayne, as far as I know, nobody is getting paid to play at this event and I am supplying and engineering my rigs for free. There is an entry fee for this event, but camping is free. One year, because of bad weather and a low turn-out, the event made a loss, due to the costs of a hiring generator, a soft-sided trailer, beer tent and facilities, marquees and security etc. This year I was contacted by the main organizer, Jon Wilmer, (as I had previously offered to help), to provide and engineer my rigs. I was offered help with fuel expenses, but I suggested they hire a second generator, so that I could use all of my stage lighting and I would do it for free. On Sunday, 25th of May, Jon is organizing a pre-Chinnor bike rally to promote the event and raise funds to cover some of the expenses. Release The Peach, Handle With Care and myself providing my smaller rigs, will be on at the end-of-rally gig at the Black Horse Great Missendon. We are also doing this for free, to make sure this year's Chinnor event is a success. You should be able to contact Jon Wilmer, via the web-site. www.wycombemag.co.uk/chinnor.htm

I will not be accessing this site over the next week, while I take the week off work to pull my lighting rig apart and re-wire and test it, so it will be ready for the 2 day Chinnor gig, as well as check over my full sound rig. I have had to purchase yet another very durable Prolite/Protex storage/transport case from www.lifeismusic.co.uk/lights/Products.aspx?Category=268 (formally Solo Lighting of Nottingham), to store my ever growing mileage of mains cables and Par56 lighting. These are lightweight but strong, waterproof (unless you submerge them), black polypropylene cases, that are strong enough to be stacked up 4 high fully loaded. My other 13 have lasted many years on the road and still look good. If you are around the area on 4-5th July, come and say hello. www.wycombemag.co.uk/chinnor.htm

Hi Guys, do I ache or what this morning. Big thanks to my Roadie/Assistant Engineer, Andy Lee, what a team we make. Hardly any sleep and on our feat all waking hours, but just being part of such a great event and for such a great cause kept us going. After a big re-design of my lighting rig, we managed to rig it so that it would keep out of the rain and still look great on stage. I had to seal the stage roof with gaffer tape to stop the leaks after the first day and I had to re-enforce the FOH gazebo to stop it leaking and blowing away. My 4kw FOH SmartSound/SoundTech PA, with my 2.4kw of monitors and drum-fill, worked very well and all of the bands were very pleased with the sound and the facilities. I even had festival goers thank me for the sound quality. My Ryger lighting rig hung in there with the lighting genny and lit up the stage (and heated it) to make the show look professional. It was good to meet up again with the guys in BURN, as I used to do their monitoring and light them up at their Angler's Retreat gigs in West Drayton Middlesex many years ago with the Elliott Tuffin Band and see them on the road in duo's. Many thanks to all of the team at WycombeMAG, who planned and worked so hard to make this event such a success and to all those who attended and put their money into such a life-saving charity. www.airambulancetvac.org/ Their new helicopter touched down during the show, but had to leave early on an emergency mission. Choppers on the ground for choppers in the air. Superb. There will be some good picks on www.wycombemag.co.uk/chinnor.htm soon. My picks are a bit dark and Andy couldn't get near the stage for close-ups. Jon Wilmer, the main organizer, will post his pics soon. He's got some good one's including 1 showing all of the bikers in the sunshine from the back of the stage while BURN were on. (nice hair Rob). John Bell.
