I have worked out that in my mid-highs instead of using a passive crossover - which would cost £40 for two, it will be cheaper to bi amp them. I need a active crossover anyway so i will just save and pay an extra £20 on a stereo 3 way.
I already have a H&H vx450 amp that gives 128w @ 8 ohm so I will use that to drive the comp drivers. - been told to give them a bit of headroom with the amp - usually about 100 w.
Buying two t-amp to run the subs and mids. 2400 and a 1400. I have been told from other engineer that they are solid amps and are very good for the price.
It will then leave me with a phonic MAR4 amp that will do for foldback for the time being.

Hi John, with your smartsound cabs are you driving two cabs per side with 1200?
I think they have a prog of 1200 watt
1200 will do for the time being but i Might look at a new amp at a later date to give it a bit of head room.
Can you give the speakers much stick? - worth getting about 2k aside amp?
Cheers
Phil - thanks all for your help

Hi Phil, all the cab's take 650W rms each and the PSS2400 delivers 1200W RMS per side into 4 ohm. The amp has 2x separate power supplies and is virtually indestructible, with a 10 year warranty. (cost me £700 though) The LP8SP-Pro cabs do not have an internal passive crossover and are slightly deeper than the standard LP8SP's, and are a reflex design. They throw further and punch better. I just link the Pro's to the standard's each side.
I use an X234 SoundTech crossover unit to drive the 3x stereo amps in my 4Kw rig.
My rig is totally modular, in that it can be used as 2x separate PA's of 2.4Kw and 1.3Kw, or the smaller as side fills when band's use V-drums and small guitar amps in reverberant buildings. (worked great in the last church gig I did for Release The Peach).
I use 1 of the 15" subs of the 1.3Kw rig as the sub of a drum fill when the full rig is up.
